A lot of food for thought. Thanks Jihii. I read it on a day when I felt a bit left behind by my nephews and nieces for the first time. I’m 42 and they are teenagers. The fear of irrelevance is real. I battle it though my Buddhist practice - by renewing my “sense of mission” every day. How do I need yo change / view things differently to remain effective in both my deeper mission to continue creating value in the world and the more apparent mission of career and family life. It’s a pretty dynamic daily negotiation!

Thanks again for your words. I’m curious about how you organise your thoughts into clusters. I want to experiment with it myself.

I just realized what I was grappling while writing my senior thesis proposal was the fear that my research question might be irrelevant to academia, to my community, and to my life. I feel relieved to know that it’s not only me who has this fear of irrelevance!
